CHARLES SCHWAB FOUNDATION

We're invested in financial well-being for all.

Most Americans have never been taught basic money management skills. We're changing that.

For us, financial literacy is more than a passion. It's a responsibility and a commitment to empower Americans with the financial education and confidence needed to achieve their hopes and dreams. Equally, for one and all.

Personal finance training for the next generation.

Moneywise America™ is our flagship financial literacy program designed for teens. Created in partnership with expert educators and led by trained Schwab employee volunteers Moneywise America helps to level the economic playing field by giving teens the skills they need to be financially fit, with a focus on reaching youth in under-resourced communities and schools.

Financial literacy, for all.

  • Putting youth on the path to financial well-being and success.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Charles Schwab Foundation have partnered for nearly 20 years to teach youth critical money management skills. In the Money Matters: Make it Count program, kids learn about goal setting, budgeting, and saving through facilitator-guided curriculum sessions and digital engagement opportunities.

  • Supporting teachers who support financial literacy.

Charles Schwab Foundation partners with DonorsChoose to support financial literacy projects in classrooms across the country by matching donations. We encourage teachers to share their lesson plans with other teachers to help build secure financial futures for the next generation.

  • Learning important lessons through big competition.

Every year, SIFMA Foundation and Charles Schwab Foundation host the Capitol Hill Challenge—a competition where students manage a hypothetical $100K portfolio of stocks, bonds and mutual funds to learn about saving, investing and civics.

Doing good work through time, talent and resources.

We're proud of our spirit of service. Schwab employees across the country are dedicated to making a difference in their communities through service opportunities, skills-based volunteering and more. Take a look at some of the ways they give back.

  • Schwab Volunteer Week

    Schwab employees volunteer at event.

Since 2004, Schwab volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to give back during our annual employee volunteerism event known as Schwab Volunteer Week. Through hundreds of service opportunities, thousands of employees lift up their communities and help nonprofits increase the financial empowerment and well-being of the people they serve.

  • Season of Giving

Schwab employee volunteers assemble care packages.

During our annual Season of Giving, Schwab employees come together to make the holidays brighter for those in need. Since 2020 we've partnered with Meals on Wheels America to provide seniors with nourishing meals, friendly chats and safety checks through a fundraising campaign. Additionally, many of our branches hold local drives to collect holiday gifts for families in need.
