Hi, I'm Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz.
A VA mortgage can make it easier for military service members and vets to buy a home, but even without the down payment, or private mortgage insurance, owning a home is still a big financial commitment. In addition to your monthly mortgage payment, there are property taxes, home insurance, and maintenance costs to consider. And for service members who may face last-minute deployment, or PCS, renting may still be your best option.
Clearly, buying a home requires a lot of homework. Whatever you decide, best of luck, and thank you for your service.
